David and Nature

David's love for Nature is well known on Crete and in the UK by many, many people. He is an ecologist, conservationist and a photographer. On Crete his passion was for orchids and vultures, especially. Back in the UK and based in the Highlands of Scotland he is now involved with his lifelong favourites, Red squirrels and Ospreys.

 

On Crete, he provided regular walks and talks and carried out a lot of recording and reporting but became very frustrated with the seemingly lack of concern for Nature by the authorities. In the Cairngorm National Park, conservation and preservation of Nature is paramount so he feels a lot more positive.
