About David

David was a member and also committee member of many conservation societies in Devon before moving to Crete in 2005. His interests also extended to other activities and, for example, he was Chairman of Axminster Historical Society for about 14 years. He was a well-known cricketer and badminton player of a high standard. He was also Chief Warden of a local nature reserve and a long-term member of Exeter Rugby Club (now Exeter Chiefs).

 

On Crete, he worked as a professional artist and tutor. His main influences were the landscapes, nature. culture and people of Crete. He, with Michaela, held many exhibitions in Chania and at other localities in North west Crete. While on Crete he dealt with Nature, provided regular walks and talks as well as education on ecology and Nature and wrote regular articles for two newspapers.
